Women’s Ministry Mission Statement  

Matthew 22:36-40

The Women’s Ministry of Shadow Hills through unity and prayer, by the power of the Holy Spirit, will lead, teach and guide women of all ages to love God, love others and teach others to do the same.

Ministries

S.A.L.T. (Seeking Abundant Life Together) Bible Study

This group is open to women of all ages, mostly mothers of pre-schoolers. We meet to support and encourage women in their walk with Christ.

We offer at least four different studies a semester covering a variety of subject matter. All women are welcome to attend. Tuesday 9:15 – 11:30 am, September through May in the Fellowship Center. Childcare (3 months-kindergarten) Mom’s volunteer when needed.

Nightlight Bible Study

Nightlight is a mid-week women’s Bible study. Women of all ages are welcome to share the joy of knowing Jesus Christ and His message of hop in our lives. We meet on Wednesday evenings, September – July, from 6:30 – 7:45 pm in the Fellowship Center.

Helping Hands (A Service Action Ministry)

Since Helping Hands began in 1987, this ministry has helped many find a place in which they are comfortable meeting many ladies, and at the same time being able to know what the needs are for those in community. Sewing skills are not required to be a part of this group. There is always a need to be done, such as sorting, ironing, cutting fabric, and filling packets for the respective locations. Thursdays 9:00 – 11:30 pm, September – June in the Fellowship Center.

W.o.W. (A Woman to Woman Mentoring Ministry)

Mentoring is essential for growing in the knowledge of our Lord, and strengthens our walk of faith. We enjoy a time of Fellowship, Special Events, Bunco, and more. Open enrollment is in September.

W.I.L.D. (Women In Leadership Development)

Once you are comfortable with one of the Women’s Ministries, come join our team and help us lead our women. Be a part with us as we encourage and support women in the planning and focus our ministry events for the year. We meet the 2nd Wednesday of the month, September through May.

Staff

Evelyn Maesaka
Women’s Ministry Director

Evelyn is married to Marc and her sons are Ken (28) and Alex (11). She has been on staff since 1998. She oversees a wide variety of Women’s ministries. Evelyn loves the desert and has lived in Arizona, California as well as Nevada. She likes spending time with her family.

Sandra Mays
Women’s Ministry Assistant

Sandra was born in El Paso, Texas but was raised in Southern California. She and her husband transplanted here to Las Vegas with their 3 kids Jacob, Jordan and Dakota in 1994. The Mays family has been a part of the Shadow Hills family since 1998. Sandra joined the staff in 2002 and loves the outdoors. She hikes, bikes and loves to run. She is also known to whip up something great in the kitchen.
