Man does not see what the Lord sees, for man sees what is visible, but the Lord sees the heart.’” 1 Samuel 16:7 This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24 The Day of the Lord dawns like any other day. “This is the day the Lord has made…” “The Lord said to Samuel…Fill your horn with oil and go. I am sending you to Jesse of Bethlehem because I have selected a king from his sons.” 1 Samuel 16:1 “Samuel asked him, ‘Are these all the sons you have?’ ‘There is still the youngest,’ he answered, ‘but right now he’s tending the sheep.’ Samuel told Jesse, ‘Send for him. We won’t sit down to eat until he gets here.’” 1 Samuel 16:11 “Then he consecrated Jesse and his sons and invited them to the sacrifice.” 1 Samuel 16:5b “When they arrived, Samuel saw Eliab and said, ‘Certainly the Lord’s anointed one is here before Him.’” 1 Samuel 16:6 Day begins when we receive God Day brightens when we are alert to His purpose The direction of that day is in the consummation of the past. “After Jesus was baptized, He went up immediately from the water. The heavens suddenly opened for Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and coming down on Him.” Matthew 3:16 "Then they were all filled with the Holy Spirit…” Acts 2:4 You will never be ready for the big day until you pile up a lot of ordinary days when you have found His will and His strength and His comfort and His Direction. The decision of that day is in the hands of God. 1 Chronicles 22:17-19 (The princes of Israel were used of God) “The Lord has found a man loyal to Him, and the Lord has appointed him as ruler over His people.” 1 Samuel 13:14 “I have found David my servant…” Psalm 89:20 “He chose David His servant and took him from the sheepfolds; He brought him from tending ewes to be shepherd over His people…” Psalm 78:70-71 “…the Lord has appointed him to be a ruler over his people…” 1 Samuel 13:14 “…I have selected a king…” 1 Samuel 16:1 |
